Here are some practical tips to help you fully enjoy the race weekend and stay focused on the action:
You won’t go hungry during the event, as nearly every viewing area includes food zones offering a variety of options. From permanent bars to recently introduced food trucks, there’s something to suit all tastes. While not every viewing zone has the full selection available across the circuit, each one offers enough variety to keep you satisfied.
You’re welcome to bring small amounts of personal food and beverages, such as a bottle of water, a sandwich, or a snack. For safety reasons, bottles may need to be brought without caps. Additionally, numerous food and drink outlets are conveniently located in fan zones.
Be ready to pay by card, as cash may not be accepted.
Save all essential details, like tickets, maps, and rider information, on your phone before arriving at the circuit. On busy days, especially Sundays, the network at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit can become congested, making it difficult to use mobile data or contact others. To avoid any inconvenience, arrange meeting points and times with your group in advance - just as you would before the age of mobile phones.
Motorsport events can get extremely loud. While the noise levels in fan areas are generally manageable, earplugs are recommended if you’re closer to the track. If you’re bringing children, ensure they wear headphones to protect their hearing.
In February, when the WorldSBK race takes place, Phillip Island enjoys warm summer weather, with daytime temperatures typically between 22°C and 26°C (72°F and 79°F). At night, temperatures usually drop to between 14°C and 18°C (57°F to 64°F). The weather is often sunny or partly cloudy, though there may be occasional light rain or storms. Winds tend to be moderate, especially along the coast, as the island is known for its breezy conditions.
